Acquedotto Pugliese (AQP) and the CMCC Foundation (Euro-Mediterranean Center on Climate Change) make available on Dataclime, upon registration, the visualization of an innovative service resulting from a collaboration initiated in November 2021. This tool allows interactive visualization of maps showing various climate indicators relevant to the Southern Apennine Water District territory, with particular focus on surface and groundwater resources and their future availability.
The service provides essential support for strategic water management planning, offering crucial scientific elements to address challenges related to water security in a climate change context, with particular attention to resource availability during periods of greatest stress.
The interactive maps offer a valuable tool for water managers, public administrators, researchers, and professionals interested in the sustainable management of water resources in the Apulia region.
The project results have been delivered through data, graphs, a summary report, and five technical notes directly accessible from the CMCC website:
- TN0297 – Expected variations in soil erosion for catchments upstream of artificial reservoirs of interest to Acquedotto Pugliese S.p.A.
- TN0296 – Expected variations in extreme rainfall regime for predefined return periods for catchments upstream of artificial reservoirs of interest to Acquedotto Pugliese S.p.A.
- TN0295 – Expected variations in extreme flow regime for predefined return periods for catchments upstream of artificial reservoirs of interest to Acquedotto Pugliese S.p.A.
- TN0294 – Expected variations in hydrological drought regime for catchments upstream of artificial reservoirs of interest to Acquedotto Pugliese S.p.A.
