Dataclime cards: High-resolution climate scenarios for Italy

26 climate indicators, three scenarios, 2 periods: maps to explore the expected climate for the future of Italy. The CMCC (Euro-Mediterranean Center on Climate Change) is committed to raising awareness about climate change and promoting the development of analysis and solutions for adaptation through simplified access to information regarding climate change in Italy. In particular, this service has prepared maps of climate characteristics that are particularly relevant for assessing the danger posed by climate change to various sectors and areas. The maps presented cover a wide variety of key climate indicators (26) including temperature rise, the study of changes in intense precipitation, and heatwaves. These indicators, in particular, depict the variation of these indicators for two future periods (2036-2065 and 2071-2100), compared to a reference thirty-year period (1981-2010). These maps are based on data provided by the EURO-CORDEX program, available on the Copernicus CDS website (for further information, see the service page). The variations are assessed considering three different IPCC scenarios, also aiming to increase awareness of the importance of mitigation policies. All maps are available for free download via the Dataclime platform.
