How the city changes. Climate change and development urban: tools to support local adaptation
Wednesday, May 22, 2019, at 15.30, at the University of Naples Federico II – DiARC (Aula Gioffredo, Palazzo Gravina) in Via Monteoliveto 3, the meeting will be held entitled “How the city changes. Climate change and development urban: tools to support local adaptation”, promoted by the Cmcc Foundation – Euro-Mediterranean Center on Climate Change.
During the initiative scientists and administrators will meet to tell about the most imminent challenges and to take stock of current knowledge and future perspectives to ensure safe and sustainable development for our cities.
It is the crucial challenge of our era and the cities are its protagonists. Along with science. The effects of climate change take different forms in different local realities. Cities find themselves in the position of having to identify strategies, measures and tools to deal with these effects and ensure the social and economic growth of their communities, the safety of citizens, the quality of life and the environment. Science offers forecasts and solutions, increasingly precise and detailed information on the relationship between territory and climate change. The city administrations are called to draw up plans and to select solutions that are made available to the most recent scientific advances in the field of adaptation to climate change.
